As of now, most of you peeps out there should already know what is Foursquare! Even if you are not using it, you might have seen Foursquare tweets in twitter or heard some of your friends saying things like... |
"OH shit! I forgot to check-in!"
"Which one did you check-in?"
"YES! I just became the mayor of this place!"
Something along those lines! For the benefit of those who still do not know what is Foursquare, it is a location-based service mobile application that allows you to "check-in" to a place that you are at using your mobile phone. It keep tracks of places you have been to and also allows you to see where your friends are! Oh! I forgot to add. You can also add comments(tips) like "The laksa here is very nice!" to the place. When someone else "check-in" to the laksa place, they will see the comment! (: Sharing is caring!
When you "check-in" to a place, you earn points/badges and also become the Mayor of the place! To become Mayor of a particular place, you just have to be the one who "check-in" to that place the most number of times in the past 2 months. As easy as that!
So..QUICK! "Check-in" to your favourite toilet, busstop, expressway, cafe, restaurant etc and become the Mayor! :D
Now...let me teach you how to earn lots of points! I'm still quite new to foursquare so forgive me if I say anything wrongly! Haha!
The points system is as below...
Check-in to a new place: +5pts
Add a new place: +5pts
Check-in to a place you went before: +1pt
Location multiplier for each place you check-in within a day: +1pt per location (10place, 10pts!)
Multiple stops at night: +2pts
Check-in with a friend at the same place: +1pt
For example, I'm checking in to my fourth place with a friend at a new place, I will get 4pts+1pt+5pt which gives me 10pts! (:
What I do to top weekly challenge is to check-in to every shop, mrt stations, bus stops, building etc! Oh! And I will try to Create a new location so that I can earn more points! Muhahahaha!
Recenlty following my what my Friend do, I check-in to expressway too!! XP I haven check-in to any toilets yet! Maybe I should start creating toilet places! Muhahaha! Try to check into new places/create new places/more places in a day to get lots of points! :D
When I first started "playing" foursquare, I never know I will go to such extent of checking in to every place I go to. It's secretly addictive. I think if there isn't any weekly challenge, I wouldn't be bothered about this app(maybe not). HAHA! :D I am aiming to get 1000pts! Den I will stop playing! Obasan must be thinking.. "ya right!" haha!
