Let's just talk about taking a bus in our lovely NUS campus in Kent Ridge. There are always signs that say "Please move to rear to allow others to board." This doesn't apply to NUS because people just board from both doors so the sign should instead be "Please move to the middle of the bus to allow others to board". Why? During rush hours, when people get onto the bus, they will move a bit inside, and then happily plant themselves to the spot i.e. the middle of the bus (along the aisle) is still roomy, while due to the obstruction of those inconsiderate people, others are packing in and crowding like nuts nearer to the exits. I think such inconsiderate people also like to smell the armpits of others when they raise their arms. [editor: Or maybe brush against the long furry likes protruding from them. Haha]
I hate it when people fight their way onto a packed bus only to later squeeze and make way for the crowd to get off. WHAT'S THE FREAKING RUSH??? it's not like the bus would just take off without letting you on once the passengers alight!!
Earlier today on the bus, the soccer team (back at my dorm) and I got ready to alight the bus at the back; when the doors slide open, we were already on the way to the stairway when suddenly [wait for it] a group of middle aged people rushed in, amazingly through the back door!
We were already standing at the aisle so, of course they had to miserably squeeze past our sweaty and muddy clothings to get to the empty seats at the front. WHAT KIND OF STUPIDITY IS THAT?? As young adults, and being considerate, we huddled among ourselves to make way for them elderlies to prevent soiling their clothes. SHEESH.
After one or two of them got up, Adeline said politely to those still standing outside queuing to get on "Excuse me, can you let us go out first?" and they COMPLETELY IGNORED HER. WHAT THE HECK! And as they squeezed pass me I heard one of them say "still got seats??" apparently their middle-aged leg muscles cannot support their energetic bodies that can make them rush into the bus so fast!
It might also be advisable to sit near the aisle for safety reasons.... but when the bus is damn full, I really don't understand why some people refuse to move into the window seat to let others sit at the aisle seat.
Once, I was carrying bags of groceries and this person sitting on the aisle completely didn't bother to offer me the empty seat beside her. Maybe she didn't see me, or so I thought and asked her nicely if i could take the seat. She could've made things easy and moved in so i could sit right away, and maybe put my grocery bags on the aisle. BUT NOOO!!!
She put her legs onto the aisle and expected me, with my bulky bags to move through the narrow leg space into the window seat. It's okay, i don't really mind. BUTTT! since the bags are so bulky and the space so narrow, it's inevitable that some might brush against her as I move in right? I apologized but SHE GAVE ME AN EVIL GLARE RUDELY. WTF is your problem, you're the one who didn't want to move in!!!??
I always thought people should be more considerate.
