Who Says Neopets Is Only For the Young?

An online game that captured my attention when I was in Secondary 2 is currently still one of my
personal favourite activities. Though I remember quitting it when I was serving National Service, I
restarted playing it and have never stopped since then. It is really that fun!

Neopets is essentially a free virtual pet game. The game has an extension to itself which attracts
users to pay to become premium members. But there are many activities to do even without being a premium member. The user basically starts by adopting or creating a pet. After which, you can do a variety of things for your new pet, such as feed, groom, play, read, battle and many, many more.

Neopets has become a routine activity in my life. No matter how late I reach home or how tired
I am, more often than not, I will tend to my pet before I turn in for the night. However, the main
reason why I am so glued to Neopets is because of its Neopoints system. Neopoints act as cash in
the world of Neopets. There are many items I want to buy for my pet – toys, food, books, weapons,
costumes, rare items, etc. I might not be shopaholic in reality, but I sure love to shop in Neopets.

The simplest way to earn Neopoints (albeit the most tedious and most long-drawn process) is by
playing the numerous games available. Most of the games are really easy to play and not much
effort is required. Every night, after I am done with my work for the day, I love setting aside some
time every night to play these games as they relax my mind and I get to earn points in the meantime.

Recently, I have been laughed at by friends when they realise I still play Neopets. But I feel that
it is indeed a game for all ages. Adventurous users will be excited by the many quests available in
Neopets. “Shopaholic” users will be attracted by the wide variety of items on sale, ranging from the
cheap bazaar kinds to the elegant and extravagant ones. Studious ones can target to be a master
of storybooks. Even the mildly interested ones can spend hours breaking records at the games.

I will strongly recommend Neopets to anyone, and not games like Warcraft or Counterstrike.
There is always something interesting for everyone in this game. Just do not get addicted. =)
