To me, it was a fantastic show in itself because the idea of a 20 year old creating what eventually became as a billion-dollar sensation was simply mind blowing! You wonder how did he become so brillant and what actually goes on in his mind to be able to do that. The best part was, it actually reveals true incidents of the process, especially when he was sued by a pair of twins who allegedly claimed that he stole their idea to begin with. This revelation intrigued me further after the show and I became a big fan of Mark Zuckerberg thereafter, though it might not be the most natural reaction you will expect from a person who just finished catching the movie. My very good friend ended up having the intent of boycotting Facebook thereafter.
Like what the web has been telling you, it's true that the show does not put Mark in a good light especially since his character was portrayed to be arrogant, heartless and scheming albeit brillant, confident and intellectually stimulating. But at the end of the day, you have to admit, to create Facebook all by yourself (with or without an idea to start off) is a formidable achievement and godly task to begin with. The idea in itself sounds so magical that it's virtually almost humanly impossible to execute. Yet, someone like this exists and changes our lives forever. Now, Facebook has become a social network, corporate pest and a tool of crime. Can't you see, it has become such a integral part of our lives that you wouldn't believe a twenty year old created it in his dorm!
That aside, you should really catch the movie, because the clever storyline entices you to stay glued by bringing in amazing and another brillant person - Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster to add flavour to the script. Bring two absolute, high leveled geeks together and what do you get? Strings of bombastically techie dialogues that you probably wouldn't understand.
Conclusively, I love the show. It's true, intriguing, thought provoking and most of all, it's about Facebook - the billion dollar school project that all of us didn't think of first.
